Matthew Greenfield set the opening pace in FHL as Sheffield Steelers began Gameweek 1 with two wins, while Tellmema took the first fantasy league lead with 413.8 points. Greenfield’s 67.8 fantasy points put him ahead of Robert Dowd and Xander Lamppa in the player rankings, giving managers an opening-week benchmark at both ends of the ice.
Across the nine fixtures on 12-13 September, Sheffield and Belfast Giants each won twice. Four games finished with shootout decisions, including both clubs’ Sunday victories, in a weekend that mixed a commanding Sheffield shutout with several much closer finishes.
🏒 Steelers sweep the weekend, Giants recover in Glasgow
Sheffield opened with a 6-0 home win over Coventry Blaze, with Greenfield recording 26 saves and a shutout. Sunday’s visit to Guildford Flames was a different test: the Steelers fell 3-0 behind before recovering to win 5-4 after a shootout. Mitchell Balmas supplied the late power-play equaliser and the decisive shootout goal.
Belfast followed a 4-1 victory at Dundee Stars with a 3-2 shootout win at Glasgow Clan. Glasgow had led 2-0, but Scott Conway scored twice to bring the Giants level before JJ Piccinich delivered the deciding shootout goal. Conway’s double added to his goal at Dundee, leaving him with three for the gameweek.
Fife Flyers responded to a 4-3 shootout defeat against Glasgow by winning 4-1 at Dundee. Cardiff Devils beat Guildford 3-1 before losing 3-2 at Coventry, while Nottingham Panthers edged Manchester Storm 4-3 in another shootout.

⭐ Greenfield and Dowd lead the fantasy returns
Greenfield finished with two wins, 48 saves and one shutout for his 67.8 fantasy points. Dowd was the leading skater on 61.5, combining two goals, four assists and a plus-five rating. Those six goals-plus-assists points are separate from his FHL fantasy total.
Lamppa completed the leading three with 56 fantasy points for Fife. His two goals and two assists included a power-play goal against Glasgow and a shorthanded goal at Dundee, providing contributions in both of the Flyers’ games.
Victor Bjorkung led the defencemen with 47 fantasy points. His goal and two assists all came on the power play. Conway also returned 47, while Mike Lee finished just behind on 46 with three assists. Olivier Archambault added 42 from two goals and two assists; Jake Willets scored 40 fantasy points and Brien Diffley 36.
🏆 Tellmema takes the first league lead
Tellmema’s 413.8 points established a 38.7-point advantage over Letitia Mewindmill Save on 375.1. Ballycastle Puffins took third with 359.7, only two points ahead of Shooting Stars Watch Us Fly on 357.7.
Massive Deke and Murphys Men both finished on 355.3. The displayed table places them fifth and sixth respectively, but they are level on points. Ice Ice Maybe followed on 354.9, with Braehead Blunders on 354.5, Hard to Yandle on 351.2 and Carnarvon Street Cougars completing the top ten on 350.5.
📈 The starting point for form
With one completed gameweek, Greenfield, Dowd and Lamppa lead the initial returns, while Bjorkung and Conway share the next-best fantasy total.
The first week leaves Tellmema with a clear lead and a much tighter group behind: just two points separate third and fourth, and fifth and sixth are tied. Sheffield’s two leading fantasy performers and Fife’s Lamppa have set the first player benchmarks for the weeks ahead.
