This season our scouting department will be giving an update prior to the start of each game week to give you all the information you need to get your team top of the standings.
Roster Moves
After a busy week of signings last week we have had a few more this week for GM’s to ponder if they are worth one of their valuable trade capital. Lets start with a familiar name in Johnny Curran, who has joined Nottingham and picked up two points in his first two games. He has previously had five years in the Elite League playing in Coventry and Belfast before a bad injury last year in Fife limited him to just two games. Eight games in the ECHL this year has shown he is over that injury so the Panthers came calling for some forward depth. He is added at 7.0M.
The other moves this week are all in Dundee with news that Hampus Olsson has left after 6 points in 16 league games. They are just 17 GM’s left who need to remove him from their rosters. To freshen things up they have brought in Zach Taylor and Quinn Ryan who have both played a handful of games in the ECHL this season. Taylor is a defenceman who has started the last two years in Slovakia, only to move on after a few games. With so little time spent at one club over the last few years it is hard to get a full picture of offensive output. In the ECHL he had a point per game in 7 games at Rapid City but no points in 5 games at Iowa. He did get 14 points in 17 games in Denmark so with the right opportunity he should put up some points. Drydn Dow will continue to get a lot of the opportunity but Taylor should get a good look as well so he is added at 6.5M. Quinn Ryan has a bit more for us to work with and it shows some impressive numbers albeit not as consistent as he would have liked. The 40 points in 49 games in Worcester in 2022/23 and then 8 points in just 6 games in Denmark in 2023/24 are the highlights. He is added at 6.0M.
Who’s Hot?
We have another week with games still to play as the scout write this preview so current point updates aren’t as useful. Instead lets look at the current Elite League standings to see which teams are scoring the most goals and are there any surprises there. The fantasy points scoring is based on goals scored so surely having the maximum number of players from the top scoring teams is the way to go?
| Team | Games Played | Goals Scored | Goals per game |
| Belfast Giants | 20 | 73 | 3.65 |
| Cardiff Devils | 24 | 94 | 3.91 |
| Coventry Blaze | 23 | 53 | 2.30 |
| Dundee Stars | 19 | 39 | 2.05 |
| Fife Flyers | 24 | 43 | 1.79 |
| Glasgow Clan | 22 | 55 | 2.5 |
| Guildford Flames | 23 | 70 | 3.04 |
| Manchester Storm | 21 | 63 | 3 |
| Nottingham Panthers | 23 | 87 | 3.78 |
| Sheffield Steelers | 23 | 80 | 3.47 |
It’s no real surprise that the goals per game standings closely resemble the actual elite league standings with Belfast, Cardiff, Nottingham and Sheffield have a gap at the top and all scoring well above three goals per game. Fife, Dundee and Coventry are much closer to two goals per game and are clear at the bottom of both leagues.
Last week we went with Scott Conway and so far he has 24 points in the week with one game against Glasgow tonight. For week 17 it makes sense to go with a team that has four games and based on the table we went through in terms of goals scored, Nottingham is the preference over Coventry. David Noël also looks to have had a good week 16 so far so lets go with him.
Current average points per week so far – 25.63 points.
Latest player scores are available on our site –
Added including week 15 while week 16 is still on-going. Some new players are still being linked up so points totals will be adjusted and back-dated.
