This season our scouting department will be giving an update prior to the start of each game week to give you all the information you need to get your team top of the standings.
Roster Moves
We have a few rosters moves to look at this week and they all take place up in Scotland. The major moves happened in Glasgow with the return of Darien Kielb to the blueline. He played for the Clan last season and scored 12 points in 46 league games. He was initially given a 8.0 value based on a solid start to his professional career in the ECHL and AHL, but a bit more productivity was expected last year. He therefore gets value drop to 7.0M for this season. It was one in and one out for the Clan though as news broke that Mitchell Heard has left the club. With 48 points in 49 games last year another strong season was expected, however this leaves 14 GM’s needing to made a trade to move him out the team.
In other news Fife confirmed the signing of Keegan Cairns who at 6’8″ goes into top spot for the tallest player in the league. Production wise though it isn’t the same story though with a few seasons of no action alongside some single figure points seasons. He is added at 4.0M. At the same time Fife also announced that forward Aiden Wilson has left the club, and he is currently in 9 teams.
After Chase Pearson’s huge week 3 with 85 points we had 37 GM’s bring him in for week 4, only to find out he is injured for the next month!
Who’s Hot?
Three of the top four scoring players so far are actually defenceman, so is it worth spending some more of your budget on the blueline? Lets look at the top scoring defenceman so far…

So you can see that you need to spend at least 7.0M to get over the 100 point mark but there are plenty of cheaper options which get you some good production each week.
Last weeks pick Mitchell Balmas got us 19 points last week which was less than we hoped for. This week we have Dundee and Guildford who play just once and Belfast travel to Bern and back in the middle of the week so we can discount them for their games on the weekend. No team stands out as having favourable fixtures this week so lets go with a Manchester player after they picked up two wins over last weekend and scored 12 goals in the process. Gary Haden picked up 27 points last week and might have a point to prove going back to Glasgow so lets go for him.
Current average points per week so far – 24.5 points.

Upcoming Schedule
Week 5 is a slight shorter week with just nine games spread across four days.
Sheffield vs. Nottingham fixtures rarely need much introduction, but Wednesday night’s Challenge Cup clash is a big one for both teams – each needs a win to strengthen their push for a top-two finish in Group A.
Also on Wednesday, Belfast Giants head to Switzerland for the final time this season to take on SC Bern in the Champions Hockey League.
Back in EIHL action, Friday night sees current league leaders Glasgow Clan host Manchester Storm for the second time this season.
Saturday night brings more league fixtures than Cup games for the first time this season. Cardiff Devils and Coventry Blaze meet again, this time for league points, while Guildford Flames – who play just once this weekend – travel to Fife Flyers. Manchester Storm return home to face Dundee Stars, who also play only once in Week 5.
Sunday rounds out the week with three Challenge Cup fixtures. Belfast Giants are back home following their trip to Switzerland and take on Fife Flyers in Group B. In Group A, Coventry Blaze continue their push for qualification when they welcome Sheffield Steelers, while Nottingham Panthers host Cardiff Devils at the Motorpoint Arena in a repeat of opening night.
