This season our scouting department will be giving an update prior to the start of each game week to give you all the information you need to get your team top of the standings.
Roster Moves
We are now fully caught up with the last few signings made by the Elite League teams, so here is a quick overview of the latest players added to the game.
Nolan Volcan has joined the Nottingham Panthers to add some more depth up front. He has spent the last two years with the Komets in the ECHL having put up 29 and 21 points respectively. He is unlikely to be pushing for the team lead in points but should be a useful addition to your team for 6.0M if he continues to have 10-15 minutes of ice time per game. After the news that Guildford goalie Jake Kupsky picked up an injury, the Flames have quickly brought in Justin Fazio who took the loss in the tough season opening fixture in Sheffield. The former Italian international has been playing in Italy for the last six seasons although has been on a struggling Asiago team for the last two years. He is added at 8.0M to reflect that he is likely to split time with Taz Burman.
After initially signing for Cardiff, Brodie Kay has now moved back to Fife, presumably the prospect of more ice time was one factor. He has been added on to the Fife roster at the same 4.0M value and could be a option to add for one of the lower value spots in your team. Fife did struggle in losing both games on the weekend but Brodie was on the ice for 12 minutes each game which will be among the higher end of other players at that value.
It was also announced on the weekend that Glasgow had filled their gap on defence by signing Colton Poolman. He brings a lot of AHL experience having iced over 200 times across the last five seasons. That many games at a level higher than the Elite League should mean he gets plenty of ice time at Glasgow, so is added at 7.0M.
We’ll give an update on player selections next week.
